We’re assuming that you’ve come here because you want to know more about health and how you and those you love can be healthier. We trust that this site will help you achieve these goals!

We established this site in October 2005 and will add new segments as we can. Our goal is to provide you with trustworthy, reliable, and timely information (and access to other helpful sites with the same) about all aspects of health—in a truly wholistic sense.

The reality is that very few people have thought through what real health is, or where it comes from, in a truly wholistic sense. Most people probably think of health in primarily physical terms—in which case good nutrition (including eating and drinking the right things; avoiding the others), avoiding toxins in your air, water, and general environment, exercise, and rest are the main issues.

Some would add a mental or psychological factor, as in the mind-body connection, and emphasize that true wellness is only possible when a person is healthy in both body and mind, in which case they might include relaxation and recreation, laughter, reduction of stress and anxiety, creativity and otherwise exercising your mind, positive attitudes, and so forth.

But we would add that spiritual health is also essential, so this site will have a lot to say about that, with links to other helpful sites with a Christian perspective on such things as how to grow your faith, how to deal with losses, depression, surviving the suicide of someone you love, and so forth, including our ministry site: http://www.hopecentral.us.

Relational health is also an important factor in your overall sense of wellness or wholeness. In fact, we think that true wellness (or “personal wholeness,” which was the topic of my doctoral work, completed in 1986) involves four arenas of life: body, mind, spirit, and relationships.

That’s why, like the Cross has four quadrants and the heart has four chambers, our site will have four expanding sections with helpful and practical material including shopping lists, quizzes, self-help checklists, and many other things, like you’ll find in our new book, Simple Health, from which we’ll run a rotating set of excerpts, each limited in length by agreement with the publisher. The first of these is the “Your Wellness Quotient” quiz, which you can find by clicking on the link to the left. (Don’t forget to check back for more excerpts later.) Other excerpts, resources, and links are available already by clicking the quadrants of our logo, or on one of the index tabs that run across on the top of the page. Over time, we trust this site will become a rich resource of health information for you and those you love.

For your enjoyment and edification, we’ve even created an original e-book, which will also expand over time. Follow Adam and Evelyn Parks and their kids as they learn about and implement health-wise habits on their journey toward optimal health. Click here or on the button to the left to start reading.

As we construct this site, if you need information or have a question or concern, write to us at: dbbv1@aol.com and we’ll endeavor to respond, personally, and as soon as possible.

To your health,
David B. Biebel, DMin
